You know how sometimes you just don’t feel like answering that email or returning that call? What you always have to have in the back of your mind, is that if you’re in business, what goes around, comes around.

A lot of times it’s hard to have conversations, so we ignore them. But you can’t do it. Honesty is the best policy. So answer that email and be honest. If someone’s asked you to do an interview and you just don’t have that time, then don’t just don’t answer the email. Just tell them flat out that you simply don’t have the time at this point. They’re going to respect you so much more, and when your name comes up, it’s going to come up with a glowing recommendation.
