Today’s audio diary is called Find the Gold in front of you.

Very often we start projects, we start to write a short story, or an essay, or a poem, or we take pictures, and we put them up on our Facebook page and we forget about them. What I want you to do is find that gold. Every quarter (which means about every three months) go through the documents on your computer. Look at the things that you created, but haven’t had a chance to use yet.

What you’re going to find is that you’re able to incorporate them now. Everything has a season. Perhaps when you started that one essay, it wasn’t right for that time, but it is now. Perhaps there’s a picture on a Facebook page that you put there three or four years ago that makes so much sense to use in your business communication now. Make sure that you find the gold that you already have and that you use it.

I find myself doing this all the time, and it’s so remarkable that I have these pictures that I took, and I was just filing them essentially and now I’m able to share those pictures in my business communications to my community. They’re very synergistic, they work and my community can relate to them. The same thing with essays, and also just notes. I often put down notes on my computer.  I have different folders and some are book ideas. Some are essay ideas.

Many of these things I started working on, but it just wasn’t the right time. Now I can go back to them and use them. It saves me so much time, and it is a such value to my community. Make sure you incorporate this method of finding your gold, today.
