Today’s audio diary is called, “Are your products too long?” When I say “too long,” I mean do they take your customer too much time to go through them? Very often we want to over-deliver on all the promises we make, which is a great thing; however, you have to balance that, and you have to be cognizant with the consumption factor.

This means you need your customers to get through the product, because if your product is just too long and too drawn out, your customer will probably refund. They will also not buy anything else from you; so, even if they don’t refund, why would they buy something else when they say, “Oh, my gosh, I haven’t gotten through that first product yet.”

Make sure you break up the product content appropriately, and charge the appropriate amount.

Instead of maybe doing this mega, mega, mega product for $2,000, do a smaller product for $500, then maybe the next one for $1,000. Now you’ve got at least 2 products instead of 1, and you’ve got customers going through your first product and learning and applying it. That is the right way to do a product.
