Today’s audio diary is called What Did You Do For You Today.

We think that we do things for ourselves during the week, but we really don’t. So what I want you to do starting now is every single night in your journal, I want you to add a section – a little box that you draw at the end of the page, that says “What I did for myself today?” And I want you to write in there something that you consciously did for yourself.

So a good example today for me is I needed to go and lay in the sun for twenty minutes. I just needed it. It was good for me. And I can’t tell you how that pattern interrupt – how the beautiful sun (I’m in South Florida), and it was just sixty eight degress and just the blue sky, no humidity. And I was just lying in the backyard for twenty minutes listening to Vana and U2. What it did to me is that it totally re-energized me. And it was great for my skin; it’s great for my vitamin D. It was just what I needed.

So everyday, you need to do something that’s for you. And then you need to look in your journal, and you need to see that box. When that box is not filled in at least five times during the week, you’ve got to change that. Because by doing something for you, just what I did for me today – it didn’t cost anything, it just re-energized me, it was good for my health, it was good for my mind; it was good for my productivity. Like very often we say, “I don’t have time for this; I’m so very busy.” But then we don’t do things properly because we’re fuzzy. It was good for my energy level.

So do something for yourself everyday. Write it in your journal.
