Today’s audio diary is called Change It Up.

You know, sometimes we get stuck in a rut. And recently, I made a change in my home office, and I’d like to share with you what that has done for me.

We have two offices in my home, one is for me and one is for my husband. And I have the smaller office. I got this huge whiteboard and it was too big for my smaller office. So my husband and I talked about it, and we switched offices. And I have been putting that off because I don’t want to do it for a while. And I thought, “My goodness, everything’s in my office – my files . . .” Excuse, excuse, excuse!

And finally, I said, “My gosh, what am I complaining about?” Basically I have to move a laptop and some books. Really, that’s all it is. And so we switched offices. I painted the office where my husband was (or he painted it). And we put my giant whiteboard there. And I love it! My desk looks beautiful, and it’s just a different environment.

So instead of fearing it, I embraced it. And, I love working in there everyday. It just gave me a fresh perspective. You know, that I just got done writing a book for the last six months. During that time, in the office I was, I was feeling like the walls were closing in on me.

So change it up. It really helps like you spur your creativity, your energy gets a lot higher. And paint your walls a certain color that’s going to be conducive to your creativity.

I have this picture right next to this , and my new whiteboard and a little note from my daughter on it (she stops by and writes me notes on the whiteboard that I love so much).

Change it up. See how that works for your productivity, your energy level and your output.
